Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life (Gal.6:7,8). By the sowing the apostle Paul without a doubt is referring to our attitudes, decisions and habits, our life-style, disciplined or otherwise? This would includes the company we keep, the friends we make, what we choose to read and the programs and movies we watch, as well as what we pursue and occupy our time with. By all these things we are sowing all the time; and according to what the scriptures say, from these we will reap (either good or bad ) Scripture does not tell us living pure lives will be easy, but the result of living impure is certainly not going to be a reward from our Father in heaven. Decisions we make in regard to our work, where we live, companionships and relationships play a huge role in us not being losers in respect to the eternal prize. All such decisions greatly influence our ability to accept Gods gift of salvation in Christ by deciding to obey the terms of the good news. In doing this, we enter the greatest race of our lives, where in order to win, we simply must finish what we start. May God bless you. Hope to see you in worship Sunday at 37th Street.
