Do not confuse Islam with being arab or the arabs with the Prophet. Islam is universal and transcends well above and beyond mere lingo, culture, customs, traits and traditions. Similarly the Prophet too was a messenger for ALL of us, not just the arabs although undoubtedly the arabs needed him first more than anyone else. He was an example of values and virtues which is what we should be emulating. Not his fashion sense nor his taste in food as those are tied to the geographical boundaries of where he was in a specific point in time. If Bosnians who admired Dr.M started emulating Malays in speech, dress and choice of foods would that make the Bosnians thinkers like Dr.M? Similarly if the afghan talibans emulated the kelantanese in speech, dress and choice of food would it make them as diabolical as nik aziz in coming up with political self serving fatwas? Emulate a person for their values not for their external appearances
