Do they teach basic nutrition in school in Haiti? If not, they need to teach our students how to eat healthy. It has become a myth in our society that the bigger (obese) you are, the healthier you are. I understand social economics does affect the way we eat and live our lives, but you dont need a lot to eat healthy in Haiti -unlike in the US and the other developed countries. We grow these fruits and vegetables in our backyards for the most part.
