Do you believe in an order to the universe, a cosmic balance of the forces of good and evil, a master plan? I believe in none of that. I dont think everything happens for a profound reason. Some may think that is a bleak outlook, but it motivates me to work hard and make things happen for myself. To do the right thing because its the right thing, not because I will be rewarded with karma or an afterlife. To actively pursue the things I desire, rather than waiting for circumstances to fall into place according to a grand design. And, perhaps most improtantly, to give thanks to the source of my good fortune when it happens, whether that source is a friend who helped me, random chance, or my own hard work.
