Do you buy things on layby? The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) has some rules for shops and consumers when layby is used. A couple of important things are: *You must be given a copy of the written lay by agreement which sets out the terms and conditions; and *You can cancel the lay by and get your money back - AND the shop is allowed to charge a fee if you cancel.
