Do you feel like Christianity just isnt working out for you? Or, did you try it once in the past and feel like it didnt work? There could be a couple reasons for this. 1. Christianity is not something you can try. It only works when you SURRENDER yourself 100%, through --humble, sincere repentance --genuine faith in Jesus Christ --continuing obedience You dont get to SAMPLE deliverance, peace, faith, and strength to overcome sin. Those things are only given to those who surrender themselves 100% to God . . . because those things are the presence of the Holy Spirit INSIDE a person . . . and you only become a temple for God when you surrender yourself 100%. 2. Wrong expectations. Contrary to what many teach, Christianity is NOT the beginning of having your best life now. It is not about a happily ever after in THIS life. It is not about wealth, popularity, and influence. Becoming a Christian is going to war with sin, your bodys desires and cravings, and the devil and his legions of demons. Becoming a Christian is stepping off the broad road where most of your friends and family are, and getting on a narrow path that goes in the opposite direction. Becoming a Christian is the beginning of a sometimes lonely road--lonely in terms of PEOPLE who travel beside you. Becoming a Christian is finding that you no longer love the things you once loved, and no longer being proud of a lot of what you once did. Becoming a Christian is beginning to not be comfortable in this sinful world--not feeling a part of it, and not WANTING to be part of it any longer. BUT . . . in the middle of all this . . . it is feeling closer to God. It is having HIS power inside you to DEFEAT your bodys desires and cravings, and to boldly resist the devil and his legions of demons. It is having PEACE inside, as you travel the narrow road, with God as your constant companion. Its having a HOPE inside you, of an eternity spent in a better place, with others who love God. Its sometimes having the sweet fellowship of other like-minded Christians who you meet along the narrow road. Its being freed from the chains of sin and despair that bound you. Its being cleansed from the inside out, and having your mind renewed and healed. Its having peace with God, and peace in your life, no matter what you are going through. Its having a fresh start, and watching as God molds and shapes you into the person HE designed you to be. Its all the benefits that come from finally knowing you are right with God, and that He doesnt condemn you--that you are His beloved child and He is your loving Father. Im not going to ask you to try Christianity. Im going to ask you, instead, to give it your all. Dive in. Surrender yourself 100% and never look back.
