Do you have a friend who wants to have a conversation with you, - TopicsExpress

Do you have a friend who wants to have a conversation with you, but as it turns out her she does all the taking and you are just a sounding post. One sided conversations sure are not very meaningful are they? Well, now think of it. Maybe our prayer life is sort of like that. We (if we are even thinking of it), we are guilty of that kind of prayer. We launch into a shopping list of the things we need help with, or favors we want to ask for others, and it turns into a generalized to do list for The Lord. Ouch! Even if we dont want to admit it, that is a prayer style we can easily see ourselves sliding into. I have been studying and the suggestion was to be a more powerful prayer partner, we should begin our prayers with a thanks for our daily blessing and then just ask God what he needs us for today. Ask Him what can we do to be of good servant hood that will help Him accomplish whatever it is He would be pleased with us doing. If you listen, the answer will come to you. And if it is not a clear cut answer, keep praying, you will discover what you can do. And then the conversation between the Father and His child becomes more meaningful. We expand our prayer to extends beyond more than an I want a...kind of list into a more dedicated one on one talk with the Lord. At least try it, wont you? Give The Lord an opportunity to speak. After all, I think whatever He tells you will be marvelous beyond our imagination. Pray today and see how your life will improve!
