The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to analyze small business issues and educate and assist clients with regard to business plans, financial projections, market research, operations management, business structures, and other topics as needed. Additional requirements include strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask and perform at a high level with minimal supervision. The position includes a focus on seeking opportunities to involve Penn State students in engaged learning opportunities and supporting the SBDC’s efforts to foster and enable student entrepreneurship as needed. The Penn State SBDC engages a wide variety of clients and industries from Centre and Mifflin counties. Successful performance will be measured based on client outcomes including financing obtained, new business starts, jobs created and retained, client sales increase, new products brought to market and client satisfaction, among other metrics. Typically requires a Bachelors degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or closely related field is preferred. Entrepreneurial or commercial lending experience is strongly preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and ability to advance Outreach and Online Education’s diversity initiative.
