Do you have advice for Vanessa? Hi, I was wondering if you had any advice for setting limits with my 2.5yo son. He has severe eczema that doesnt respond to standard treatments, and when he gets upset, he gets very itchy and his eczema flares (I assume its a mixture of stress hormones and sweating -he also gets itchy when hes sweaty). When I set limits that upset him, I feel really torn between promoting his emotional health and maintaining his (relative) physical health, because once the itch starts, it can last for hours, even after he calms down. Sometimes Im so tempted to just give in to what he wants, just because I know hell end up physically miserable. There probably isnt a real solution to this dilemma, but Im wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar and can offer some reassurance that I can use in the heat of the moment to remind myself that Im doing the right thing.
