Do you have an ancestor in Allegany County, Maryland? I thought I’d give you a quick overview of what records you can find on FamilySearch for Allegany County’s Register of Wills Records. They have digitized documents covering the years 1790-1913. It’s important to remember that there are many other probate records available for the county and that these are only the ones that have been digitized by FamilySearch. Some of the digital books will have an index either at the front or the back of the book. Some books won’t have an index at all and you might need to browse page by page to find what you need. Who knows, you might find something you didn’t know you were missing! Don’t forget to check occasionally for added documents. Allegany County has the following digitized documents available: Administration Accounts 1792-1850 Administration Bonds 1791-1855 Inventories 1791-1851 Orphans Court Proceedings 1791-1852 Wills 1790-1913 https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1803986
