Do you have your coffee? (smile) Here we go! Let’s begin by reading ..... First John 1: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. There are three different types of people on planet Earth. Listen to each category and determine where you fit. Type one: “Life has no purpose”. To this type of person, life is chance. And, life is random. They do not believe in God. Therefore, they have no accountability. This type of person would have no problem being dishonest to help themselves. In fact, they would even hurt you if need be, in order to get the advantage. Type two: “Live and Let Live”. This type of person just wants to be left alone. They don’t want to hurt you. So, they would prefer that you keep your distance. They will get angry if you push them hard enough. And they will hurt you, if they must. But, they would rather not. They believe in the concept of God. But to this person, their total social program can be summed up in “Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.” Type three: “Live to Give”. This is the type of person who has thought things out. They have come to realize the reason for life. They know that our sole purpose is to help each other. Regardless of how they are treated, they will give and they will love. That’s the only thing that makes sense! They believe that Earth is a testing ground. It’s where we learn to love. And, if we learn how to love and help, we get to go on to the next assignment when we pass from this life. Yes, they believe in God. Well, it is so much more that that! God is their life!! Well, “Type three” is what I want to be! I see no other reason for life that makes sense! That’s it! We “Live to Give”. And, I have found that that is the only way to be happy! That is “walking in the light”. We are the peace-makers. We are the ones who will let others shine. We won’t insist on our way. When people hurt us, we rejoice. We rejoice because we know God will reward us - “double for the trouble!” We “send it up”. “Put it on deposit”. And, we withdraw it with interest when we get to the other side! Let’s conclude this week’s lesson with these questions: “How do we have fellowship with God?” And, “How can we be sure that the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin?” Only one way! And that is to “walk in the light, as he is in the light!” Amen? AMEN! Blessings, Dr Steven James Hale Your Web Church Pastor
