Do you hear God? The only way you can hear God is by Gods Spirit. You cannot be a Christian without Gods Spirit. You cannot be saved without Gods Spirit. No one can hear God without Gods Spirit. We are born again by Gods Spirit We follow God by His Spirit leading us We pray by Gods Spirit We cannot even come to God unless Gods Spirit draws us. Jesus said to His disciples, I have many other things to say to you, but you can not hear it now. He said He would send the Holy Spirit to remind us of what He said and to speak to us of things to come. The Holy Spirits job is to not only comfort us, lead us, but to speak to us. Talking about Jesus Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Jesus’s ministry began after the Spirit of the Lord came upon Him as John baptized Him. Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; When the Spirit of the Lord takes you up to a higher walk with God, be careful of the Spirit of Jealousy. Ezekiel 8:3 He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my hair; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the image of jealousy was, which provokes to jealousy. God is pouring out His Spirit in these last days Joel 2:29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. God will again pour out His Spirit on the inhabitant of Jerusalem. Zechariah 12:10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. Jesus came to earth by the Holy Spirit Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Jesus needed the Spirit of the Lord Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; John the baptist prophesied Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire We will totally need the Holy Spirit in the Last days 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. 18 You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Blasphemy agains the Holy Spirt will become common as the Spirit of God convicts the world of sin in the last days with mighty signs and wonders. Matthew 12:31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Mark 3:29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— Jesus gave us this command and commission Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, The last day Christians will need a much stronger anointing Mark 13:11 But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. God has kept this hidden Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. How do we get the Holy Spirit Luke 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! You simply ask God for it. Not doubting, but in simple faith believing. But first you must be born again John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. Jesus told His disciple that He would send the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. This is what Jesus said to His disciples John 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the HolySpirit. The disciple believed Jesus and they waited expecting what He had promised, even though they did not understand what He was saying at the time. Acts 1:5 John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” The Spirit of God will make the difference Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Here is what happened. Listen in faith. Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Acts 2:4 And hey were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. This is Gods promise. Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. What does God do with His promises? He keeps them. Heaven and earth will pass away but Gods word will last forever. To receive Gods Spirit you must repent Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit you will have no power Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. You have to be willing to obey God Acts 5:32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Some will resist this. Some have just not been taught this. Acts 19:2 he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” Some will be persecuted when they walk in this Power. Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” We get the Holy Spirit form Jesus as we pray for it. Acts 8:15 when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the HolySpirit. Sometimes it takes someone filled with the Holy Spirit to pray for us. Acts 8:17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. Acts 11:16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If this is the first time you have heard this teaching. Prayerfully, carefully, and with faith in your heart, read over all these scriptures until you start to hear God. When you hear God, God will hear you when you pray. Remember this is a study on learning to hear God. Read it again until you hear God speaking to you through His word. As I began listening to God in His word diligently, I began to hear God speaking to me personally. That is Jesuss own promise to you. John 14:25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. It is Jesuss promise to you to send you the Holy Spirit to talk to you, teach you, and show you things to come. When you receive the Holy Spirit, start to listen to Him. Dont worry, he is friendly, loving and caring. Have a blessed day
