Do you know that North have benefited from GEJs administration more than other regions, yet they are unhappy with GEJ and are doing everything to kick him out before 2015 if possible? From the minister of works report of federal road projects across the country, I came to the reality that North have the highest number of completed and ongoing federal road projects in the country. Apart from this, federal govt under GEJ has done the following for North just within two years of his administration: 1. Building of more than 296 Almajiri modern schools all located in the North. 2. The Kaduna refinery has been refurbished and its now operational after 15 years of abandonment. 3. Out of the 9 newly established federal universities, 6 are located in the North while South has only 3. 4. For the first time in Nigerias history, state of emergency was declared in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states with the democratic institutions in the states intact, yet desired results are being achieved. I remember what happened when Obasanjo declared state of emergency in Ekiti and Plateau states; the governors and other elected officials were sacked. Democratic institutions were dissolved and military took over. 5. About 70% of the integrated power stations built and commissioned so far are located in the north. 6. GEJ refused to revoke the 80% of the oil blocks owned only by Northerners even when the call for the revocation by some Southerners deepened. 7. More than 70% of the people heading federal govt Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are from North. Northerners are IG of Police, controller generals of Prisons, Customs, Immigration, chief justice of Nig, presidents of Court of Appeal and High court, head of civil service of Nig, National Security Adviser (NSA), Group Managing Director (GMD) of NNPC (Note, apart from the immediate past GMD, someone from South South and South East has never held that post), CBN governor and others too numerous to mention. Now after all these, can someone tell me why North are unhappy with GEJs administration. Your guess is as good as mine -they believe Aso Rock is their birth right. I once listened to Adamu Ciroma where he said that Southern Nigerians are blessed with commerce and education while Northerners are endowed with special leadership qualities. You can imagine! I think the best thing for North is to demand for Arewa republic where they will have exclusive right to rule without being hindered.
