Do you know what country has the largest oil reserves in the world? No, its not Saudi Arabia, Iran or Canada. Guess what: Venezuela! Unbelievable! The reported proven oil reserves in Venezuela reach 297 billion barrels which is more than that of Saudi Arabia (265 billion barrels). Mind you, those oil wells wont run dry for the next 234 years. 50% of the countrys GDP comes directly from selling this ample supply of oil and thats pretty much what they export. Given their relatively small population (28 million), youd think they have a flourishing economy with a very high per capita income, but the fact is 31.6% of Venezuelans live below poverty line. Thats kind of sad...
