Across the UK, thousands of 38 Degrees members are turning out in their towns, cities and villages to sound the alarm. They’re delivering leaflets and spreading the word about a dangerous trade deal that could put our NHS at risk. If the deal - TTIP - isn’t fixed or scrapped, private companies will have a field day with our Health Service. The NHS would have to compete with American private healthcare companies. [1] There’s more, too. Under TTIP, mega corporations could sue the UK government if our laws hurt their profits. So our government could be sued by the private health industry if they rolled back privatisation. [2] As well as talking about the deal, 38 Degrees members are gathering even more support for the 125,000 strong petition to Vince Cable, the Minister in charge, to fix or scrap the deal. So far, he’s been hearing from big businesses, desperate for him to seal the deal. Now it’s our turn.
