| Do you make these 7 business mistakes? | Whether you are in business or getting into business there are seven mistakes that people often make. Mistake #1 Not writing good copy. Copy is everything! It is the hook, the teaser the curiosity that draws your customers in. It must be truthful and specific to your customers needs. Copy includes things such as headlines, newsletter titles, article titles, service titles and so forth. Learning to write great copy is an art and science that should be learnt by everyone in business. Mistake #2 Thinking just because you have a wonderful product or service people are going to buy. No. No. No. Sorry to say often this is not enough. You need to inform your customers exactly what it is, that they are going to get out of your product or service. What is the benefit to them. There is no point in talking about how fantastic your product/ service is if your cant directly relate the outcome specifically to your client. So, dont explain the why it is so fantastic, explain the how it relates to your customers needs. Mistake #3 Writing long emails to customers when you follow up or explaining your service in lengthy detail. (Or writing long emails to anyone for that matter) This just wont fly, you need to keep it simple and short. People are busy, they will respect you if you refine your message and can communicate it with as little amount of words as possible. Mistake #4 Not taking a holistic approach to your business. Okay, this may seem a little vague but lets narrow it down. What do I mean by holistic? I mean, pulling out each part of your business, (research, finance, production, marketing) both for present and for future, and seeing how each element adds to the customer experience or takes away. Mistake #5 Doing what everyone else is doing. This really makes me scratch my head. Its okay to want to be like a certain business or person, but ensure that you take the concepts that gel most with you and adapt them to meet your exact business, your strengths and your ideal market. Dont be a clone. Take Lady Gaga for example. You may love her or you may hate her, but she is memorable because she is unique. Mistake #6 Constantly selling. I see this all the time, in my inbox I am surprised at how rarely I hear from some people and the bam I get an email in my inbox from them trying to sell me something, or join me up to be an affiliate or whatever. Dont be in it for the sale. Be in it to add value to the persons life, the sale is secondary. Mistake #7 Dont waste money on things that dont really add value to your business when you can do free things instead. Simply said, writing an article, creating a great video or sharing some sound advice on your Facebook is FREE and it adds far more value than a paid advertisement to your customers life. Put simply, create products/ services, and a business that you would be happy to purchase from. Enjoy to the max! Written By Sarah Rose Sage. ICWC Wellness Bites at: icwcschool
