Do you support Constitutional Concealed Carry in Louisiana? What that means is the ability to carry concealed without a permit-the constitution(s) would be your permit in Louisiana essentially. There are bills pending in Baton Rouge in our state legislature that support this. The Sheriffs Association has a strong lobby and they have come against this as well as some other pro gun bills. What makes these legislators take notice are bodies and lots of them in person at the capitol. I have some contact with the authors of some of these bills and am working to coordinate with them to help get these bills passed. If enough people dont bother to take the time to show up in person for these sub committee meetings to push back against these lobbyists then the legislators know its not important enough of an issue to be a threat to them if they vote the wrong way. In Louisiana gun bills are heard typically in the Administration of Criminal Justice Committee in the House and in one of the Judiciary(A,B, Or C)Committees in the Senate. The ACJC in the House, which is where we are focused on the most right now typically meets at 9:30 AM. The La Legislature does not usually meet on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If I am able to get some possible commitments from enough people to be there in person, I can encourage the bills author to schedule it to come back before committee. He said he thought 100 butts in the seats could make a difference. We cant find 100 people in Louisiana that believe strongly enough in their 2nd amendment rights to take a morning out to show their support? I think we can and I look forward to working with you.
