Do you think CIA and senior Bush administration officials should be prosecuted for the interrogation methods exposed by the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report? Why or why not? A. Absolutely. Torture for any reason is a crime under U.S. and international law. Our government officials are not above the law. B. Prosecution would be a mistake. The country needs to move on from this and focus on the future. C. I wish we could prosecute, but you would have to start with the top officials, and that would quickly turn into a political show trial. D. Prosecuting top Bush administration officials would set a dangerous precedent for bringing criminal charges against political enemies. We need to let this go. E. President Obama should officially pardon everyone who was involved. That would resolve the question of prosecution while still acknowledging torture is wrong.
