Do you want to live and work in Komodo? The role requires a passionate and driven individual with both an SSI and PADI background that is able to respond to the demands of running a busy dive centre that offers both day trips and live aboard safaris. Our remote location offers incredible diving with pristine marine life while demanding adaptability to changes situations - does that appeal to you? You must not only be working with out local community, but actively doing outreach and training to raise the overall quality of life. Can you make the world a better place? Applicants must be driven and enthusiastic, sharing our love not only of the marine environment but also in our commitment to work with the local community. Does that sound like you? We are growing and evolving. Already on the cutting edge of Community based tourism - we are hoping to encourage others dive centers/resorts to follow our lead. Do you want to make a meaningful impact on a company, a community and an industry? This is not a teaching position - nor a diving one. You will be called upon to do both, but not on a daily basis. Are you okay with that? Wicked Diving is a leader in Community Based Tourism and ethical operations in the diving industry. We have locations in Thailand (Similan Islands) and Indonesia (Komodo and Raja Ampat) with day trips, liveaboards and training programs. We also operate an expedition vessel that explores Eastern Indonesia. Even more important is how we work with the communities we operate in to create training, internships and jobs. It may be more accurate to say we are community training program masquerading as a dive center. Our passion for the seas we dive and the communities we live in shows in all we do. We currently have a position in Labuan Bajo for an experienced dive centre manager looking to broaden their horizons as our Operations Manager in Indonesia. This is a rapidly developing market filled with the challenges and rewards of remote locations. Applicants must have previous experience and be able to adapt to the challenges of working in a remote location. And let’s make this clear - “must” means you MUST have the experience, not that you want. The ability to read and comprehend this very posting is a test. For this position you must have: Experience managing both local and foreign dive crew/staff - at least 25 employees. Organizational skills with demonstrated ability to oversee diverse staff. Patience and compassion with different cultures and religions is not just required, but essential to success. Experience working with cash and accounting programs Excellent communication and people skills Extensive and adaptable problem solving skills Ability to live and thrive in remote locations A keen focus on team building and developing long-term relationships with all guests Experience with challenging dive sites (and understand what challenging means) Knowledge of Diesel and outboard engines, compressors, servicing dive gear and marine electronics. For this position we would LIKE you to have: Working knowledge of the Indonesian language (and a willingness to learn more) Languages other than Bahasa and English This position provides: A safe, supportive work environment surrounded by like-minded people A company that is growing and will challenge you to grow with it A work permit (after trial period) and assistance with visa Long term contract with vacation time, good salary and benefits Opportunities to dive in all locations (Similan Islands, Komodo, Raja Ampat) Opportunities to join diving expeditions, exploration and overland trips Complimentary stays at turtle conservation camp An amazing group of guests who want to better the world, not just dive More fun, wild experiences and great memories than any where you have worked before. Not sure if you picked up a few things here - but lets make it clear. This is remote location, we only just got yogurt last year. You have to deal with that. And no...Dahab is not remote. We also need verifiable experience...having just finished your DMT on Koh Tao or Utila was certainly an amazing experience for you, but really not even close to what we are looking for. All those musts up above (and there are lots of them) are pretty clear. If you pass the intelligence test, then we are already going to get along. If not - we will use your application as training for all our DMT and Instructor candidates about how to fail at job applications. You will become part of the CV training program. CV@wickeddiving
