Doctors do Double Time for United Way! United Way of the EUP would like to welcome their 2014-2015 Campaign Team! Dr. Shane & Betsy Woolever have taken the reins from Mark and Jessica Savoie and are now the chairs for the upcoming year. The Woolevers also bring with them Dr. Danny and Teresa Dwyer-Armstrong which are very recognizable in our community! Dr. Woolever hails from Flint, MI. He attended Holy Rosary High School and then Michigan State University with an undergraduate degree in Physiology. He earned his degree of Doctor of Osteopathy from NOVA University in Miami, Florida. After completing an orthopedic residency at Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, MI, Shane moved to Sault Sainte Marie in 2001 and started his practice by opening Greater Peninsula Orthopedics. Shane was also Chief of Staff at WMH from 2011-2013. Shane’s wife, Betsy, is from New Orleans. She attended St. Marys Dominican High School and went on to receive a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia. She worked at Children’s Hospital, in New Orleans, as a Registered Nurse for several years before pursuing a degree in anesthesia. Betsy received her Masters of Science in Anesthesia from the University of Michigan, Flint. Betsy is currently employed at War Memorial Hospital as a CRNA. The Woolevers have 4 beautiful children-Tessa age 10, Mia age 8, Quinn age 6 and Shelby age 3. Teresa is a graduate of Marquette Senior High School and has received an undergraduate degree from St. Norbert College, DePere, WI as well as a Master of Science from Northern Michigan University. Teresa’s is experienced in nonprofit organizations and has worked at Volunteer Center of Brown County, Boys and Girls Club and American Cancer Society all in Green Bay, WI, as well as Great Lakes Center for Youth Development in Marquette. She has corporate experience with ACN, Inc., and Global Response - both based in Margate, FL. Teresa currently works at War Memorial Hospital in the Community Relations Department. Dr. Danny Armstrong hails from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and is a graduate of St. Marys College with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Dr. Armstrong attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic. He is a former member of Kiwanis Club of Marquette, and is currently a member of Sunrise Rotary Club here in Sault Ste. Marie. Danny practices at Bordertown Chiropractic in the Sault, and also sees patients at Helen Newberry Joy Specialty Clinic. Danny and Teresa have two children - Calla age 7 and Shea age 5.
