Does Love Really Not Cost A Thing? The statement Love dont cost a thing is fast gaining classic status nowadays. On social media and even in our day-to-day communication, we are fond of using this statement. Many people have accepted this statement without as much as a thought but the question is; does love really not cost a thing? I would say NO! Love costs! When you are talking about love, I mean real love then it costs a lot. The greatest love story of all for Christians is that of Christ, He left his heavenly throne, came to earth, suffered and ultimately lost His life on a cross only to rise on the third day. In trying to demostrate love, Jesus had to go through the pains of rejection from even His own kin, mockery from those He came to save, physical torture, and all of that. Coming to inter-human relationships, you cant overlook the cost. When you are in love, you sacrifice your time, attention, care, energy etc which could have been invested in something else and brought dividents, now you tell me thats not a cost? These costs are enormous but worth the while. It is true you dont lose by loving you only gain but that gain comes with a cost. If you want to be a successful business man for example, it will cost you your time, brain power and energy to make your gain, so is love. To make it work, youll have to sacrifice a lot, I mean a hell lot. So when next you see a quote, examine it critically before subscribing to it, Love does cost a lot.
