Does anyone else find this ironic? When the Republicans held the Senate and the Presidency, the Democrats continually asserted that the minority party has rights that cannot be removed. But now that the Democrats are the majority party, the president is stepping up to the microphone and continually repeating that he will not negotiate and that the minority party does not have any right to attach amendments to legislation? You have to be kidding? The sad thing is that the democratic party complained and complained about their rights when they were a minority and never exercised them, now that they are a majority they are complaining that the minority party is actually exercising the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. It is a system of checks and balances. There is good and bad in each party but the complete reversal on this issue of minority party rights is IRONIC and very amusing.
