Does anyone here have TMJ dysfunction? And if so, how were you diagnosed? Ive had severe tooth and jaw pain, radiating all up my neck and in the front of my ear since just before Christmas. Ended up at the emergency dentist on Xmas day and he took an x ray, said my bottom wisdom teeth are impacted. Saw a consultant who did a bigger x ray and he said the same but wasnt convinced the pain was from the impacted wisdom teeth as they werent infected.. so he said it was more likely to be TMJ dysfunction, but all he did was give me a sheet of paper with info on it about TMJ and sent me on my way :/ he said I could have the teeth out if I wanted but he couldnt guarantee the pain wouldnt still be there afterwards. Basically I just wanted to talk to anyone who had a TMJ diagnosis and how they came to the conclusion thats what they had, my jaw doesnt click and it doesnt get stuck at all, its mainly tooth pain on the one side of my face and hot and cold things can bring the pain on, as I say it radiates all up my jaw, neck and sometimes up to the back of my neck and all across my right hand side of my teeth. Bloomin kills! Any advice would be great, ty.
