Does anyone know anything about the history of Camp Wheeler? I rented a house on Franklinton Rd. once a few years back and a crew came out looking for artifacts and I think land mines or shells in my yard. Also, I recently purchased a home on one of the ABC streets off of Riggins Mill. My house was built in 1939 and from what I understand used to be a part of the base housing for Camp Wheeler soldiers. My neighbor told me that it hasnt always been here. It was moved here from the base. So if anyone knows anything about Wheeler Heights, or where I can find a history on my house/neighborhood as well as the camp, I would appreciate any and all info! :)
