Does cyclocross need a retro category? I think one of the sports challenges will be the uniqueness of the equipment. Its a fringe activity enjoyed for a few months and if you need a $2k+ purpose built machine thats just expensive. Not to mention that using an ill suited device to navigate mud and terrain is half the appeal. Do I want a hyro-disc, tubular laden race rig? YES! but lets make sure the sport has a place for the craigslist, cobbled together, 1970 steel frame. thoughts? What would be the limitations of the retro field?
