Does your child cry out for one parent or the other when theyre - TopicsExpress

Does your child cry out for one parent or the other when theyre hurt or upset? Heres a great comment I received from Louise Melbourne. My response below it - Louise Melbourne said: Mr M was a SAHD when I started a new job at 6 weeks post birth, and 6 weeks post (thanks to change of government) redundancy. It was brilliant (and fricken heart breaking). Gave me the opportunity to take up my dream job and gave him the chance to be at home with our babes (while I pumped breast milk like a crazy woman at herself all day so that my daughter could have a little bit of me). Fast forward 6 years (just last week) and Miss M thought she got lost … and she cried for Mr M, even though she was in my arms. It broke my heart and made my heart swell with pleasure that Mr M is the primary attachment figure for Miss M. Dads dont normally get that. RD said: A great story. What Ive learnt about children (my own) is that they will call for me when theyre in Mums arms and call for Mum when theyre in my arms. Also notice that as theyve grown theyve gone through different stages of being more focused on parent or the other. I think that means that they are just very lucky and in love with both Mum and Dad and theres a good chance that calling for one parent while in anothers arms is just a childs way of saying they want the attention of both.
