Dog & cat friends in the greater Seattle area - I have several clients in the greater Seattle area looking for a new vet. In each case, their current vet is not supporting the owner in one or more of the follow ways (see below). I am looking for area vets (from Everett to Chehalis) whose clinics & vets embody the following. Please send me suggestions on vets for these people! #1 - Communicating with the owner regarding treatment of their cats & dogs (the current vets do not take the time to communicate clearly to the owner what the treatment is - in laymans terms, not vet-speak), WHY the treatment is being done, why certain tests are being run, etc. #2 - Vets with the willingness to discuss non-standard vaccination protocols. These owners current vets want their pets vaccinated every year, for everything, and all at once, even though some of these dogs have had moderate-bad reactions to mass dosing of vaccinations in the past. Not looking for vets that ONLY do single vaccinations at a time, or limit vaccinations, but looking for vets that work WITH, LISTEN and COMMUNICATE with the owners. #3 - And maybe this should be the TOP priority - looking for vets that work with the owners and truly listen to the owners - and are willing to troubleshoot and problem solve when a pets issue continues to reappear. The vet doesnt have to agree with the owners, but if the pet has been treated for the same issue a number of times (and the symptoms keep coming back despite following the instructions given to the owner), then it is time for the vet to either ask colleagues for insight or do some research and think outside the box... So if your vet (or your clinic!) embody these traits, please let me know who they are so I can suggest them to local clients. Thanks everyone!
