Dog handlers will use bloodhounds to track poachers at the Lewa - TopicsExpress

Dog handlers will use bloodhounds to track poachers at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Lewas armed rangers are Kenya Police Reservists with mandate from the Kenyan government to respond to and investigate cases of insecurity on the Conservancy as well as in the neighboring communities. One of the teams greatest assets is their two highly trained bloodhounds who act as trackers, sometimes at lengthy distances, and with great success. Lewas armed rangers are not limited to Lewas boundries, and often are called to help Kenya police and the Kenya Wildlife Service in other areas. They also work closely with the Northern Rangelands Trust to investigate cases of elephant poaching and cattle rustling and and they train community conservancies’ security scouts, providing technical and managerial expertise. instagram/p/w-KDUGESAf/?modal=true
