Doing a TON of Ancestry research this morning. My nearest living relative via DNA is a possible 2nd cousin... ...most are more distant than that. So far no luck finding any one with the same last name Sheridan . I am growing more and more convinced that the man who came to the USA from Ireland was NOT actual named Sheridan, that he gave a false name when he boarded the ship. I am still seeking living relatives here in the US. My bio father had a sister who only had two children. In order to find a common ancestor in Ireland via DNA at least one of them would need a DNA test and it would have to link to a shared relative . One major roadblock is finding my bio dads sister! I have searched all kinds of records for many many hours. No luck, so far! Very interesting stuff.
