Doing music professionally is extremely challenging.. As a drummer, no one lets you practice or play, and playing is expensive, venues want your band to pay to play.... No1 cares about your music until strangers start noticing you, or a label, or big artist picks you up. People just want to watch you fail, so they can feel better about themselves knowing that they dont have the balls to pursue their dream. As a producer/DJ there are now millions of them, with FL, logic, Ableton, making as much stuff as they can and as fast as they can. Entering as many contests, and spamming it all over How do you find your voice? So what happens when you are 26 and you have bills to pay? and things arent looking good? People want your music for FREE, FREE music videos, they even want to get into the shows for FREE, that you arent getting paid to play. People even want free merchandise, they wont pay for it? Too much circulation makes the price go down: The more you are seen and heard from, the more common you appear. If you are already established in a group, temporary withdrawal from it will make you more talked about, even more admired. You must learn when to leave. Create value through scarcity.
