Doing what I hope is the final read-through of Ashers/Ysidro #6. Since I finished the heavy work early, its REALLY nice to have the leisure (before deadline) to let it sit a couple weeks before going back, thus avoiding some ouch-moments after the things in print. November 14-15 Ill be at Bouchercon in Long Beach. Saturday (the 15th) Ill be on panels about writing historical mysteries, and using actual historical characters in mysteries (other than my three mysteries as Barbara Hamilton starring Abigail Adams, the January books have occasional cameos - usually local New Orleans characters like Madame Lalaurie and Marie Laveau, but I did use Jefferson Davis as the Watson in Dead Water - only of course, Davis thought HE was being Holmes and it was January who was his Watson...) And starting to count chairs and dig out the Thanksgiving and Christmas table-linens, and estimate how big a turkey one needs for ten people... in between grading exams.
