Donate Life Arkansas in the Little Rock Christmas Parade! The Donate Life float drew ooohs and aaahhs, smiles, tears, thumbs ups and various shouts of recognition all along the parade route. Float coordinator, Becky Gertsch of ARORA, reported that 7 donor family members rode on the float, holding their loved ones photo: Tonya McGary, Danette Dunn, Debra Jones, Veronica Stewart, MK Allen, Kim Rankin and Carleigh Clements. Danette’s daughter, Lauren Dunn donor from SVMC, was remembering Lauren’s birthday on the float with us. The float featured stacks of gifts, upon which were photographs of 13 donors. Photographs displayed were of Audie Wade, Denny Ezell, Heath Dorey, Lisa Parker, Brady Smith, Matthew Morvin, Kenady Wagley, Matthew Burdick, Jerry Burkes, Tony Pearson, Shannon Baribeau, Sheila Dotson and Shane Hall. Our hospital partners who walked alongside the float, handing out candy, donation information and Donate Life bags were from Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Baptist North Little Rock and St. Vincent’s. Congratulations to the float committee. Our float tied for 2nd Place out of the 25 entries in the Non-Profit category.
