Donetsk Diary July 13, 2014 Now our Russian brothers and sisters know a horror of the Ukrainian shelling not just from the hearing about it or from Donbass refugees but today the felt that themselves… Unfortunately this morning Ukrainian army shelled one Russian town (called Donetsk as well, but that’s Donetsk in Russia, Rostov region), some houses were destroyed, shell holes were in the gardens, several people were injured and one man died – he lost his arm … People are shocked. 1tv.ru/news/social/263010 Donbass feels this pain and shock for four months. Kiev junta wants to pull Russia into the war anyhow. But we have one good new today –Severodonetsk water channel was repaired (Ukrainian army shelled it before several times) and in the evening it starts working! They say it will take 4-5 days to fill it in with water. That means that very soon in Donetsk Republic (and especially Slaviansk and Donetsk) we’ll have normal water supply, not 5 hours a day like now. In general, as usual, it’s raining in Donetsk, Militia attacks the airport, Ukrainian army shells the suburbs of Donetsk, we evacuate people from these parts. The city of roses is getting ready for the worst times: militants strengthen their positions, civilians stocks up with the food, get an information about bomb shelters and read pieces of advice “How to behave in case of shelling”. July 14, 2014 That’s the first time lately it’s pretty quite in Donetsk. Less of traffic. Don’t hear any firing. What’s that? A lull before the storm? But I personally believe that it’s a result of the small victories of our heroic militia: successful night operation in Snow town (30 km from Donetsk), taking military equipment and (Oh, my Godness) a couple of Ukrainian aircrafts that were shot down again! Yes, yes, yes! What a pity that our ex-mayor Lukianchenko left Donetsk (he moved to Kiev) and can’t enjoy with us this pleasant day. The city of roses is controlled only by DNR! Besides there are good news from Russia. 1. Mr Putin has signed an agreement with Brazil, now Russian gas will be delivered through Brazilian pipes. Good bye, Ukrainian pipes with holes! Ha-ha-ha! 2. Europe refused to complete the second stage of association with Ukraine until Ukraine won’t improve the relationship with Moscow. The head of EU, Mr Nonberg, declared that yesterday in the press-conference in Berlin. Isn’t great? 3. The ministry of transportation of DNR together with Russia renews a train rout Donetsk-Gukovo – Rostov that will allow 400 refugees to go to Russia in 5 hours. 3 similar routs will be done soon. We all must understand that Russia helps Novorossiya strongly without any army! So, my mood is really elated, even such news like “Ukraine doesn’t allow Russian journalists enter Ukraine and asks EU do the same (refuse work Russian media)” can’t spoil my pleasant mood. Opposite, such marasmic declarations from Ukrainian politics make me laugh; I want to put my forefinger to my temple and twist it. July 15, 2014 The morning wasn’t good and kind at all today – our friends wrote us from Snow town (Snejnoe) that there was an airstrike in the center of the town and one 5-floor house destroyed completely. There are victims, including children. .. That’s the way Kiev junta revenges for their aircrafts shot by Donbass Militia. Later there was one more airstrike, but militants say they shot it and it dropped near the town. In the afternoon our windows were trembling from the strong bark (pum, pum). From the side of the airport. We were sitting and praying: hope militia attacks the airport and bark the Ukrainian army, not opposite. It lasted for two and half hours. Later we knew that our hopes were justified: militants were shelling the airport, in a result a gas pipeline and a communication tower exploded (see video https://youtube/watch?v=Nx5behhw5I4). We can only imagine Ukrainian losses. Opened a TV, and …oooh! What a pleasure! NO UKRAINIAN CHANNELS anymore! And a modest creeping line “ by decision of the council of ministers DNR Ukrainian channels were disconnected. Sorry for the caused inconvenience”. Hurraaa!!! Now all the old people who can’t read news in the Internet and still believe Ukrainian media will have just true information. And other people in Donetsk will drink fewer sedatives because of the information provided by Ukrainian channels. That’s great. I am really excited about that. Banks don’t work in Donetsk. Water supply is still limited. There is food in stores, not as much as before, but at least they didn’t raise prices. In one of the shops I could buy a packet of salt, triple price. No doubts there are always people who get profit from a war.
