Donington Park Qualifying Report: A very overcast Donington Park plays host to the final Production GTi Championship round of 2014. With a very spread timetable the team had a late start to the day with qualifying taking place at 16:00pm. New team member Simon Tomlinson wanted to be one of the first out of the holding area to gain a clear track. Simon, who tested on Friday felt he enjoyed the car and was it handled on Friday and was feeling optimistic ahead of qualifying. Simon completed 13 laps, his best time was 1:27:152 placing him 7th on the grid for race 1. Martyn Walsh, thinking he is an F1 driver, rocked up just before he was required in a true Arrive and Drive fashion. Feeling nervous Walsh left the holding area to the reverse of the pack. Martyn also completed 13 laps but had 1 lap disallowed for track limits, Martyn took a little detour on the grass in front of the grandstand, from which we can only believe was to wave at a supporter! Martyns best time was 1:26:740 gaining him 2nd for race 1, only 0.043 behind pole position! James Howlison took no time in posting consistent lap times, he kept out of trouble the entire session. Although only completing 11 laps, James will be starting in 9th with a time of 1:27:316. Despite some very close lap time, there is only 0.677 seconds separating the top 10 cars.
