Dont Fly Jetstar, Just had an uneventful chat session with a Jetstar Rep about why I have to pay an $8.50 credit card fee per flight instead of per transaction which is the way that fees are suppose to be charged in the first place. Unfortunately after much back and forth and running around in a circle the staff member just couldnt answer the question apart from, You have to pay the card fee per leg. Not their fault, Im sure they just havent received training on justifying Jetstar fees in a satisfactory way. Anyway, I was given the opportunity to provide feedback regarding the service which I have also provided below... Humour is good, even when your experience isnt. I hope you enjoy the following suggestion I left. Feedback. Please note, by reading the suggestion after this sentence you are agreeing to pay the fees set out at the end of this suggestion. Suggestions as follows: You may want to give your staff a better briefing on how you justify your credit card fees. The consultant I had named only RM did not have enough knowledge or understanding regarding the way credit card fees are charged globally, not their fault I imagine, they probably werent equipped to answer such questions. He/she couldnt tell me why Jetstar charge a credit card fee of $8.50 per flight when I am only paying one transaction at the time of booking. A credit card fee is to cover the vendor cost PER TRANSACTION ONLY however you are charging me twice for one transaction based on how many flights Im taking. An example of how incorrect that fee is as follows: A couple decide to get married, they find the venue, choose the decorations, menu, drinks etc etc. The quote is done and the price that is presented to them is $24,500. They agree and say We would like to pay by Mastercard the venue then says OK, there is a $1700 credit card fee, when the couple ask why is it so high the response they get is Its an $850 charge per I do that is said at the ceremony, as both of you will say I do, then you have to pay that fee twice giving you $1700 because you want to pay by credit card.... Im sure you get my point because lets face it, anyone who doesnt understand why Jetstars credit card fees are genuinely excessive, unfair and unjustifiable really should go to common sense school and re-learn general understanding of,.... well, everything. Train your staff to be able to handle all questions and equip them with the knowledge of who to escalate the question to if they cant effectively answer it. You will be charged a $411 fee for me having to use this service tonight and not getting my question answered and then to fill out this feedback to better improve your customer service which this will clearly not do anyway. Please note you can pay with a variety of methods (contact me on (censored)@hotmail for other payment options that can help you avoid extra fees, this help has its own fee of $100 per question asked), credit cards will incur an extra $8.50 fee per word you read on this suggestion which you have already agreed to at the start of this suggestion if you read beyond the first sentence. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to type a long winded sentence that will either never be read, taken seriously or even considered. Im thoroughly disappointed that Jetstar is currently the only option I have to fly interstate soon. Some sort of regards, Gavin Shepherd.
