Dont Waste Your Time If at all Ive been a play-play-boy or what - TopicsExpress

Dont Waste Your Time If at all Ive been a play-play-boy or what we call in modern parlance- a jonser, Ive always learned to use my time wisely. As a matter of fact, my favourite quote is time is wealth. Abundant wealth at that! To make plain, I was reading through my notifications and I stumbled into this update that caught my eye- while u sleep, I am busy working. Thats why Im always ahead. This was no fallacy as the poster boasts as one of the youngest Ph.D holders in town; a renowned researcher. Obviously, this is a testament that investment of our time in positive thinking and acts yields bountifully. Whether u are a Millionaire or a Billionaire depends largely on your proficient time management. Yes! Greater minds plan their activities according to the dictates of time striking a balance in all endeavours. However, as I continued to read through my notifications, there was something that struck my mind- specialization. How best do u manage your time and be productive? It becomes ideal that greater time and energy should be invested in something that we have comparative advantage over others- a relevant time management skill! This is where specialization comes into play. The global market is inherently competitive. You need a mastery of your own art to unlock and exploit opportunities whenever they surface. Yes! It becomes meaningful to engage in things u do better instead of dabbling into every trade. While in school as a Political Science student, I fumed at certain courses we offered especially GS105, 106 (Natural Science). Obviously as Social Science students, the idea of the course was that we have a feel of the natural world; mans natural environment. But today I dare to say that the knowledge is arguably superfluous. Perhaps as much as it might still be relevant today, I chose to pay much attention to becoming a better Political Scientist. Thats specialization; key for time management! My focus has advanced to becoming a Diplomat, Pol Economist or an Administrator. The idea is that even if I cant do without my natural dwellings, there are people who should pay considerable attention to that while those of us in the Soc Sciences concentrate on the study of man and society. That way we re much more productive. Obviously specialised knowledge is often more productive as opposed to general knowledge. As a Pol Scientist, it might be relevant to know all the Presidents of States in Africa but as a business man, does that knowledge count? Indeed you take pride to know all the presidents of the countries of the world; people marvel at ur ability to cram them all. How much does that put in your pocket? An amazing scenario was the libel against Henry Ford, the producer of arguably worlds strongest cars, as an ignorant fellow. Mr Ford objected to the statement and brought a suit against the paper for libeling him. Mr Ford was plied with the following questions to prove he was indeed an ignorant man: Who was Benedict Arnold? and How many soldiers did the British send over to America to put down the rebellion of 1776? In answer to the last question, Mr Ford replied I do not know the exact number of soldiers the British sent over, but I have heard that it was a considerable larger number than ever went back. Could this have added to Mr Fords knowledge of car design? Indeed, why should you clutter up ur mind with general knowledge for the purpose to answer questions? Dont waste ur time.
