Dont get me wrong, its a well-written piece and Ian often oscillates between the surprisingly radical, entertaining and banal... but I think hes just pipped Jack Waterford in the uber-grumpy stakes. Seriously, before you suggest draining a whole lake it might be a good idea to hop on a kayak and try and enjoy life a little? or perhaps talk to some people who use the lake regularly? There are thousands of people in Canberra who appreciate and understand LBGs beauty better than (it seems to the casual reader) a relatively closeted existence in a newspaper office in Fyshwick allows.
