Civics lessons and celestial themed writing collide in a declaration of planetary independence (Courtesy of 10-year-old Dillon Prevo): IN CONGRESS As you see, today we are declaring independence from the planet Saturn and instead we will be called “The United Ring of Debris.” We will no longer be dependent on the gassy surface of Saturn. The government of Saturn has brought this on themselves. All of us have our own rights and we will use those rights for even more reasons to break away from your uncivilized government. We have the rights to make our own laws so we will do that as our own planet. We have the right to trade with neighboring galaxies so we will do that also, as our own country. You have abused us so, that we will, no matter what, break away from you. YOU have cut off our trade with neighboring galaxies YOU have abused our right to make our own laws YOU have sent soldiers and executed your own subjects YOU have jailed anybody who rebels, even in a peaceful manner YOU have made our lands a chaos-filled republic You have summoned us hither to declare independence from your planet.
