Dont say it...dont say it...ah, screw it. With the mentions of Gofundme, I was hit with a request that is still making me shake my head. Asking readers to fund a movie version of a book. I probably wasnt quite as disgusted until I clicked on the link and saw the vast amount of money that had been donated by supportive readers. I was left with an overwhelming feeling of ick. Why? Because I thought of all the good that money could do to help people in need. And I thought of how many of those readers are probably living pay check to pay check(as I personally remember very well) and have hearts and good intentions bigger than their bank accounts. FYI: Ill never ask you to fund me in anyway, unless you consider buying my books as funding me. Well meaning readers should you ever start such a campaign, I would ask you to take it down and refund the money. I want a movie based on my books as much as the next peep does, but I want it to be because a production team saw value in my work, not because they were bought off. I know money speaks and all, but at the end of the day, the money is fleeting. When you lose your integrity, youve lost it all.
