Dont skip past this one. Read the article in the link (it is quite short), please. This is Scotland, after 300+ years of the worlds most successful union. This is happening in our largest city. I dont want to live in a country where folk have to rely on handouts from others to be able to survive (and that is what foodbanks are). Im reasonably well off, like probably most of the folk I know, but I dont want to live in a country where 1 in 4 children live in poverty, where the life expectancy in parts of the largest city is lower than the life expectancy in Kenya, and where the government 500+ miles down the road is promising that there are many more years of cuts to come, making this the harsh reality for more and more people. We have an opportunity to do things differently. We can stop this sort of thing happening in Scotland. Independence gives us the control required to allow us to do something to try to eradicate foodbanks from the streets of Scotland (through lack of need, rather than by threatening to close them down as Westminster have done). It doesnt have to be like this. VOTE YES.
