Dont think I can put any finer point on this than I already have, but there are people out there who think Gamer Gate started with good intentions or that both sides of the debate need to reach a compromise or whatever. This. Was. Never. A. Debate. It was never a cause about ethics, or corruption, or anything. It is a harassment campaign, started by a game developers bitter ex-boyfriend (who routinely, proudly violates a restraining order placed on him by the developer, in addition to a provably fabricated allegation he made about her), and propagated by the same people who have bullied and harassed women, gays, basically anyone with a minority background involved in making, marketing, critiquing, or even playing video games for years. The same damn creeps, harassing the same people. They didnt care about ethics then, and they dont care about ethics now. Their claims of not being about harassment could only be called disingenuous if one were being charitable. They are liars.
