Dont wait till am in physical uniform (Take a second and closer look) 1 Samuel 16:7 - The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. So I joined this bus heading home, a young man heading in the same direction asked the bus conductor to inform him when he gets to a particular destination. Unfortunately for this young man, we went miles pass his destination before calling to attention the bus conductor. An elderly man in the bus asked the conductor to compensate the young man since he informed him(the conductor) that he didnt know the place. As usual, both driver and conductor were against the idea, but this elderly man insisted they give the young man an amount that will take him back to his destination. Both driver and conductor spoke against this man and this other lady who later joined in the dispute. I noticed the driver at a point decided to look through his mirror to have a look at the man but the man hid his face. I was sitting next to him and I began to wonder why he was hiding. I thought to myself, maybe he wants the driver to rain the insults. I wasnt far from true, but the driver later realized the man had a familiar voice and face. Then he(the driver) said I wont say anything, then drove on. The driver at this point knew the man was a senior police officer but wasnt in his uniform. When he (the officer) alighted at his destination the driver had to park and beg him. The police man was at this point in authority while the driver and conductor were now at his mercy. He asked the driver to report to his office the next morning for misbehaving. Lesson: There are lots of important people we meet daily but, mistreat and mishandle them because of their physical outlook; Not dressed the way people that matter dress, may be just like this policeman; am sure if the conductor saw him in his uniform from unset, he would have behaved and spoken differently. Can we start looking at people differently at least before we vent our anger, insult and frustration on them. As a preacher however, I choose to relate this to the church. We are more concern about the outward appearance of the people we give the best places to, probably because of the physical uniform they might be wearing. But am here to inform you that every human being alive is here for a reason. So before you judge, condemn or speak ill of them ask yourself who they might be on the inside or who and what God has made them in Christ Jesus. Not forgetting that the physical exist because of the spiritual and the physical can never exist without the spiritual. God demonstrated this in the beginning when creating the world. He called the things in the spiritual to show forth in the physical. So the fact that someone is not wearing a uniform in the evening doesnt mean he doesnt have a uniform. Soon morning will come and you will meet him again this time in his uniform, will you then treat him differently. That is hypocrisy. Our world will be a better place when we observe such simple but very delicate protocols. Showing respect to all regardless of what they wear, where they come from, who their parents might be, the titles they bear, religion, tribe, race, age, social class etc. May we go out there today and show a little respect and see more in the people that we meet, that way we can treat them more differently. You and I can make our world a better place for all if we choose to. God bless you.......................!!! #metarmorphoses
