#DopeWomenWednesday We met at GESU, but I wasn’t in the “cool cheerleading crew” so she didn’t show me much love (I always have to give her a hard time)! LOL!! We went on to Mercy together and our LOVE grew stronger. She is one of four and the daughter of one of the most amazing Mothers ever, Mama Rose. She comes from a strong family that became my family and if you hung out with her, you hung out with her younger siblings too because we were the babysitting crew! LOL!! She always was one of the smartest girls in my crew, I’m talking about she never studied and she would be stressed out like she was gonna flunk only for her to get an “A” on the test! LOL!! Her smarts earned her a scholarship to University of Michigan for undergraduate and then she earned her way into U of M law school. During law school she would talk about her passion for the people. She started out on the status quo track of corporate law and working at a firm. She met some great people and learned a lot of information to carry forward in her career. After much self-reflecting and research she followed her passion of representing “the people”! She always tell me about the disparity of low income, the education disconnect in our community and the prison pipeline. She is one the smartest and passionate people I know. On top of all of these academic achievements, she manages to be a SUPER awesome Mommy, Daughter, Sister, Friend and Wife. We always joke about the family life and how she is perfecteing it every day, but it takes a lot of work and balancing and she shows me how it is supposed to be done. She maintains her health as the “Kenyan runner” LOL and beauty. Her schedule is full for her family but it also full for her community. She is the past president of the Wolverine Bar Association, she is active in her children’s school, she assist children whose parents are incarcerated and she cheerleads her friends to the finish line of life. But the best part of this AWESOMENESS, she is just COOL as ish! LOL! I’m talking about just IGNORANT! LOL!! Every time we get toether it is going to be laughter even in the saddest situations. You would think with all of her credentials, she would be “brand new” like many people can be. But not her, she is still Dexter and Davidson to her heart. She loves her city, her family and friends. There is no doubt in my mind that she would do anything for her family or friends. Her loyalty is RICULOUS! When I think of her, I think she graduated from the top law school in the country and I honestly believe that she could be a partner in a firm, but she has decided to represent the underserved community as a Federal Public Defender, that’s right I said FEDERAL! What else can I say, this sista is just ALL OF THAT and a bag of bbq Bettemade chips and I am blessed to call her my sister FO LIFE! She inspires me to be more and she is my role model of what a Mommy and Wife our age would be! Thank you Brandica for being so DOPE, love you sis! Brandy Robinson you are my #DopeWomenWednesday!
