Doris Haddock died 4 years ago yeasterday (March 9th 2010) She lived to be over a 100 years old. While that is a great milestone she had many more that in my eyes serve a purpose much bigger than age. From Jan. 1 1999 to Feb. 29, 2000 she had walked over 3,200 miles in adovacy of campaign finance reform. The woman believed so strongly that BIG money needed to be kept out of goverment officials campaigns and hands so bad she walked all across America spreading the word for the McCain-Feingold Reform Act. Which was based around the idea of stripping Soft Money from campaign finances. A few months after her walk (April 21st, 2000) She was part of a peaceful assembly in the Capitol Building where she was arrested by Capitol Police for reading the Declaration of Independence. An Amazing American with an amazing heart for her country! Now that is a life worth living! REST IN PEACE GRANNY D!
