Doug Zimmerman from Edmonton playing his little ol trumpet (coronet?) at Brittanias open stage tonite. Man can that cat play! And what a beautiful instrument. Sounds like Bill Chase from back in the day...and on drums his friend Bill, also from Edmonton? I think? . I got up and played a full set too, Born to Be Wild, Long Tall Woman in a Black Dress, Honky Tonk Woman, had some fun! Hope my surgeon doesnt see this, Im not supposed to play for a few weeks yet, but it felt great and maybe was good for the shoulder? Mike Curlette kept threatening to crack me one with the headstock on his bass! Love ya Mike! Anyway, had a good time and look forward to Doug sitting in with the Rhythm Roosters when he comes back late November. If we can get Scotty to join us with his tenor....well, then well have something goin on! Didnt get to play with Doug tonite, was pretty rocky for him...they had already burned up a bunch of blues and jazzish stuff. Too bad. Next time Doug!! Fer sure fer sure! DO I sound like Vic Lillo?
