Douglas Herring, to answer your question I bought an English Wheel and tried it out. Its not rated for super thick stuff as its made to make car fenders and motorcycle tanks so this was a perfect project to lean how it worked. I turned it into a potato chip shape right away then had to spend a long time fixing that mistake. Should have ran it in circles to start with not strait across. I took a time-laps with my gopro so that might show up later. But these 3 pictures tell the story pretty well. Cut out as large a circle as I could from of the scrap I had Rolled it out poorly for a long time, switched to a less domed lower anvil. Then went it circles fixing all the mistakes I made creating a perfect dome. Cut it down to the diameter I thought looked best for my size. I should probably stick a blog on the N&S website.
