Douglas pleads guilty in McKean County Court BREAKING NEWS: A woman charged in a two-vehicle accident that killed six people about one year ago has plead guilty to charges including six counts of homicide by vehicle and one count of recklessly endangering and other summary charges. Kathy Douglas, 37, of Kane, will be sentenced at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 in front of Judge Morgan at the McKean County Courthouse in Smethport. A five-day jury trial in the case was slated to begin on Monday. Killed in the accident, which occurred around 4 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2013, were two passengers in Douglas’ car — her daughter, Olivia Douglas, 12, of Eldred, and her nephew, Jarrett Costanzo, 6, of Kane — as well as all four people in the second vehicle — driver Gary Beimel, 62; David Cuneo, 54: Elaine Beimel, 55: and Florence Donachy, 81, all of St. Marys. Douglas and her only other passenger, her 10-year-old son, each suffered serious injuries and were flown from the scene by medical helicopter for treatment.
