Downed wires has forced the closure of a portion of Portugal Cove Road. Just before noon today a delivery truck was exiting the Hoyles Escasoni Complex when it got snagged in some overhead wires. Newfoundland Power crews and RNC are on scene. Portugal Cove Road is shut down between London Road and the intersection of Prince Philip Drive. Traffic is being diverted in both directions. Two poles are compromised. Traffic is expected to be diverted for a couple of hours.
