Downtown Abbey was good. The Manners of Downtown Abbey was even better. I especially liked the explanation, by Oracle Alastair Bruce, of the precision with which the dinner table was set. The upper classes of Edwardian Britain believed that the dinner table was The Lords Table and should be set and manners should be consistent with a decorum befitting the Lords Table. Also, the French Revolution is responsible for the very reserved and somewhat stiff manners of British upper classes. Demmed French.
