Dr Jitendra writes to families of Kishtwar accident victims NEW DELHI, July 11: Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Space & Atomic Energy, has personally written individual letters to each of the nine families of the deceased viz., Dr Mohd. Rafiq Akhoon, Dr Amir Kamal, Abdul Rehman, Irshad Ahmed, Sat Lal Sharma, Ghulam Ahmed, Darshan Kumar, Abdul Kareem and Satish Kumar who were killed in the road accident at Sinthan Top, Kishtwar on 8th July, 2014. While expressing condolence to the aggrieved families in letters addressed individually to the next of the kith and kin, Dr Jitendra Singh has offered to provide all help required from the Centre as a relief and employment to the survivors in the aggrieved family. Meanwhile, Dr Jitendra Singh today took up the issue of poor maintenance and condition of the roads in the Dhoda-Kishtwar sector, contributing to increase of such frequent accidents with union Transport Minister Sh Nitin Gadkari. He also requested the union Transport Minister to personally pay a visit to the area in near future for a first-hand assessment of the problems being faced on account of poor road connectivity and slow progress of road work under PMGSY scheme of Govt of India. Dr Jitendra Singh has also urged the State Government authorities to strictly implement the traffic rules in order to avoid the overcrowding on hill roads.
